Rewards

Our employee rewards reflect Skandia's vision that it is an organisation that people really want to work for – an employer of choice.

The following is a summary of some of the rewards offered by Skandia.

Salaries
Competitive salaries that reward your contribution, experience and commitment. Salaries that reflect individual performance and take into account salary levels in the industry. Salaries are normally reviewed on 1 January and more frequently when required to reward your progress.

Incentive scheme
Employees share financially in Skandia's success and prosperity. We measure success by achievement against a combination of financial and non-financial measures.

Working hours
The standard working week is 35 hours − seven hours per day, between 09:00 and 17:00, Monday to Friday. Although we do not operate flexi-time, we aim to keep a flexible approach for requests to work variable hours.

Save as you earn
Sharesave Plan is a saving scheme for Skandia employees. In March of every year, employees are invited to join the scheme and contribute to a pre-tax savings plan. At the end of a 3 or 5-year saving period, the balance can be used to buy shares at a fixed price, or withdrawn as cash.

Holidays
Initially you will be eligible for between 22 and 24 days.

Skandia Life Assurance Plan
Provides life assurance cover for every employee. This is a non-contributory plan − Skandia pays the full cost.

Private medical insurance
Non-contributory private healthcare for all employees. The scheme can cover you, your spouse and your children. You will be able to opt to join the scheme from the day you join us.

Staff pension scheme
We are keen to ensure that you look after your long-term financial future. We invite all eligible employees to join the Company contributory pension scheme, subject to a minimum service requirement.

Flexible holidays
To allow for individual needs and circumstances, employees can now buy or sell up to five days' holiday to increase or decrease their total annual leave.

Childcare vouchers
Employees can buy childcare vouchers through salary sacrifice, which can be used to pay registered nurseries, childminders or nannies.

Interest-free loans
We offer interest-free loans for travel and parking arrangements and for membership fees to join a health club.
