RS USD JF KoreaFUND AIMThe Royal Skandia USD JF Korea fund invests solely in the JF Korea fund, a Hong Kong authorised unit trust, managed by JF Funds Limited. The aim of the underlying fund is to provide long-term capital appreciation through investment primarily in companies whose shares are listed on the Korea Stock Exchange or traded on the Korean over-the-counter market. Investments in the underlying fund tend to be volatile and investors should expect an above average price increase or decrease. Investments in emerging markets tend to be volatile and are usually considered to carry a greater degree of risk than investments in established markets. This relates to dealing, settlement and custody practices, the possibility of political or economic instability, and developing legal, fiscal and regulatory structures. The underlying fund invests into a relatively small number of assets, or into individual countries or a specific market sector. Such concentrated portfolios give rise to more risk than where investments are spread across a larger number of assets, countries or market sectors It should be noted that the performance of the Royal Skandia fund will not match that of the underlying investment due to Royal Skandia fund charges, appropriate taxation adjustments and the Royal Skandia investment process. GLOSSARYVolatility (standard deviation)Volatility is a statistical method that measures how much a series of values move up and down around its average. The higher the volatility number, the less consistent the historical performance has been. Fund Risk NumberThe Fund Risk Number has been calculated by taking the absolute volatility values of all the funds in the relevant fund universe and arranging them in ascending order. The ordered volatility range has subsequently been divided into ten segments, each representing 10% of the range. The funds have been placed into the relevant segment, depending on where their volatility numbers fall. Each segment has been colour coded to represent the risk associated with each fund(based on five-year volatility). The Fund Risk Number will not be shown for funds with less than 5 years of performance history. Sector Risk NumberThe Sector Risk Number has been calculated by arranging all the sectors in volatility order which has been calculated over five years. The entire volatility range has been divided into ten segments, each representing 10% of the range. The sectors have been placed into the relevant segment, depending on where their volatility numbers fall. Each segment has been colour coded to represent the risk associated with each sector(based on five-year volatility). The Sector Risk Numbers will be calculated monthly. Significant changes in volatility may result in changes to risk numbers. Quartile RankQuartile Rank is a rating of performance on a scale of 1 to 4, where 1 is best and 4 is worst. The entire performance range of a sector is divided into 4, each quartile rank corresponding to 25 percent of the range. Fund Type - OverseasFunds for sale in International markets.
