Browser Configuration

To make best use of the Skandia website and Extranet services, you may want to follow the following steps to configure your Internet Explorer.

Some of the Skandia websites and Extranet services will require a small file called a 'cookie' to be used. These cookies assist you when viewing certain information on Skandia's on-line services.

What is a cookie?

A 'cookie' is a piece of information in the form of a very small text file that is placed on your computer’s hard drive. A cookie can also be thought of as part of an internet user’s identity card for a specific website.

For information on Non Windows XP SP2 users

Windows XP SP2 users

1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Go to the Tools Menu.
3. Select the Internet Options Menu.
4. Select the 'Privacy' tab. (see below)

5. Click the 'Sites' button.

6. Add the following website(s) to the first field at the top of the page, then Click 'Allow'. PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU MUST ENTER THE FULL URL (a URL is a website address).

7. The website addresses should now appear in the 'Managed Web Sites' box.

8. Click 'OK' on the 'Per Site Privacy Actions' window.

9. Click 'OK' on the Internet Options window.

10. Close the browser window and re-enter the Extranet services.
